About the project
Truck Central is a purpose-built transport and freight hub strategically located between Darwin and Palmerston at the corner of Tiger Brennan Drive and Wishart Road delivered in partnership with the Ostojic Group.
It has been designed to improve heavy transport safety and productivity in the Top End by co-locating key facilities and businesses in a fit-for-purpose industrial precinct, with direct access for fully configured road train combinations and high-wide load movements.
The unique Vehicle Inspection Facility enables inspections of up to three fully configured 53.5 metre triple road trains. This enables operators to meet inspection compliance requirements without the time loss and safety risks of disconnecting and reconnecting trailers.
Truck Central also includes a Road Train Assembly Area comprising more than 3 hectares of heavy-duty concrete hardstand that supports driver fatigue management and safe reconfiguration of prime movers. A purpose-built heavy vehicle refuelling facility operates on site, supported by driver amenities including dining facilities, a lounge, showers and toilets.
The estate has strong visibility at the nexus of Darwin’s major roads, with exposure to more than 18,000 traffic movements daily. It provides flexible industrial lot options to support a broad cross-section of transport servicing and industrial activities, with titled lots ready for NBN connection.
Key transport nodes including the Berrimah Rail Freight Terminal, East Arm Wharf, the Marine Supply Base and Darwin International Airport are located nearby, supporting efficient port-rail-road-air connectivity for operators.
LDC’s role focuses on land availability, estate integrity through covenants, and facilitating investment-ready lot opportunities for logistics and heavy transport operators.
